A Whole New World (To Crush Under Your Heel)
A long time ago, a small outcast group of humans discovered an open portal into the plane of fire. Several humans leaped in and were instantly killed, but those who stayed out decided to settle around the new source of infinite heat and light. Over time, the magical energies from the open portal began to corrupt the humans, turning them into the Flametouched. This new race eventually spread across the world, to either bring the light and warmth of fire to help people, or to bring death and incineration with the all-consuming flame.
The Flametouched appear mostly human. Generally fairly attractive or intimidating, they seem to exude a hint of warmth at all times. Their skin, hair, and eyes tend towards reddish hues. They tend to go out and seek adventure, never wanting to stay in one place for too long.
Type: Native Outsider, ties to the Plane of Fire.
Stats: +2 to any two stats, +2 CHA.
Base Speed: 30 ft.
Resistances: Fire 5.
Fire Affinity: If a Flametouched is a sorcerer with the fire bloodline, it treats its Charisma score as 2 points higher for all sorcerer spells and class abilities. Furthermore, a Flametouched able to cast domain spells that correspond to the elemental plane the race has ties to casts its domain powers and spells at +1 caster level. This trait does not give members of this race early access to level-based powers; it only affects powers that they could already use without this trait.
Pyromania: Flametouched are treated as +1 level higher when casting spells with the fire descriptor, using granted powers of the Fire domain, using bloodline powers of the fire elemental bloodline, using the revelations of the oracle’s flame mystery, and determining the damage of alchemist bombs that deal fire damage. This does not give Flametouched early access to level-based powers; it only affects powers that they could already use without this trait. If a Flametouched has a Charisma score of 11 or higher, it also gains the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, flare, prestidigitation, produce flame. The caster level for these spell-like abilities is equal to the user’s character level.
Flame Breath: Once per day, as a standard action, Flametouched can make a supernatural breath weapon attack that deals 2d6 points of fire damage in a 15-foot cone. All creatures within the affected area must make a Reflex saving throw to avoid taking damage. The save DC against this breath weapon is 10 + 1/2 the user’s character level + the user’s Constitution modifier. Those who succeed at the save take half damage.
